Every year, Carnival in Aalborg presents a new carnival theme, which lays down the guidelines for the carnival in question and opens up for a broad variety of costumes. The theme serves as a source of inspiration for the participants, but is not a demand - all costumes are very welcome. We challenge the participants’ ability and desire to exceed the limits laid down in everyday life. We praise impressive, colourful and imaginative costumes and turn up the music, rhythms and dancing from all corners of the world. So, be inspired by this years’ theme or previous ideas and create your own fabulous costume!
