The Grand Parade
“Paint your face - dance the street”
is the motto of the Grand Parade. The meaning is simple: It is your choice whether you enjoy the parade as spectator or as participant. Everyone can participate in the Grand Parade! You do not have to be a member of a carnival group, you do not have to enrol or know how to dance the Samba – just join in!

Party in Kildeparken
The Party in the city park, Kildeparken starts right after the Grand Parade (the park opens at 11.30am). The parade moves through the streets of Aalborg and ends up in Kildeparken where the festivities reach their climax and the biggest and most colourful party of the year takes place!

Battle of Carnival Bands
Enjoy the inventiveness, experience the diversity of carnival traditions and be impressed by great costumes and rhythms from all corners of the world ! The Battle of the Carnival Bands consists of a parade and several stage shows where international carnivals groups compete to win the title 'Best Carnival Group of the Year'.

Childrens' Carnival
The 24th of May is a very special day - on this day the children celebrate their very own carnival. A parade through the city with dressed up children and their parents launches The Childrens Carnival.

Carrus Navalis moves through Aalborgs streets, is on reference of a thousand years old tradition.Every year,a boat is pulled through the city streets as part of the comprehensive carnival tradition, which offers light, victory over winter's darkness and welcome a new beginning
