The Animal Kingdom

The diversity is large in the animal kingdom. On this page you can be inspired by dangerous predators and beautiful, fairytale creatures. Have fun!
Frog
In order to produce a frog, you need 5 different watercolours. In this case, we have used 2 types of green, yellow, white and black. Additionally, you need a sponge, water and a medium size brush.
  Cat
This cat has been painted using three watercolours, in this case, red, white and black (when you are done, you should use a yellowish watercolour to add a finish to the mask). Besides colours, you need water, a sponge and a medium sized brush.

Step 1:
Apply the primary green colour to the face and neck using the sponge. Use the brush around the eyes. The green colour may be mixed with white in order to obtain different shades in the primary colour.
  Step 2:
Outline the mask with a dark green colour and paint the nose in this colour as well. Paint yellow around the eyes and paint the lips white using the brush.
  Step 3:
To complete the frog, outline the mask with the black colour using the brush. Draw cheeks on the frog and also draw a black line on the lips. If convenient, draw ‘shields’ on the neck using the brush and the black and dark green colour, respectively.
Step 1:
Apply the red primary colour to the forehead and nose using the sponge. Hereafter, paint the nose and mouth black as well as outline the eyes using the brush. The white eyebrows should also be painted.  .

Step 2:
Shape the white whiskers and a small ‘beard’ on the chin using long brushstrokes.

  Step 3:
The face paint is completed with the brush. Paint black strokes along the eyebrows; outline the whiskers and the beard (if convenient, you can add yellow strokes as well). The hands may also be painted in order to create a better overall impression.

Butterfly
This face paint is made with watercolours in 7 different shades: 2 types of green, 2 types of red, 2 types of blue, and white. Additionally, you need water and a thin brush. Furthermore, you can use silver- and gold glitter on tube to add sparkle to the face paint.

Panther
This face paint is made with watercolours in 5 different shades: black, white, skin colour, red-brownish, and pink. Apply the colours with a sponge and a brush.

Picture lended from Grimas.
The primary colour is a light skin colour that is applied with a sponge where- after the white areas around the eyes and mouth as well as the red-brownish areas around the nose and chin are applied with a sponge – remember not to use too much water. The black areas around the eyes, nose and mouth are marked and outlined with a brush. Finish off with a little pink on the lips and around the nostrils. Finally, make the long, white whiskers using a brush.

WRAUUUW!

By Lise Toftild, Alternativt hår.

Step 1:
Paint green around the eyes and use another green shade to paint the edge. Apply green dots from the forehead using the same technique.
  Step 2:
Draw the red circles around the green eyes and paint the mouth in the same red shades.
  Step 3:
To finish the mask, draw bluish circles above the eyebrows and outline the butterfly’s white ‘antennas’.
